Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) In a way, this is a typical drummer's album. It's not so much based on melodies, but rather on rhythm patterns, with melodies and chords joining in. It's an unusual - but fantastic - listening experience, because this kind of music is more on the rare side. Hard to assign a genre to it - certainly it belongs to the avantgarde movement. More specifically, I'd say it's an individual kind of chamber rock music. Favorite track: procession and fanfare.

about

**Disclaimer! This is an old album (1999-2002) that represents my chamber prog leanings *at that time*. In hindsight, I find parts of it a bit excessive. My current tendencies are more stripped down. My new band, Lunar Mistake, for which I co-write, will be releasing an album in early summer 2024.

thin pillow was a solo project of David Shamrock, ex-drummer and co-writer of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and current drummer and co-writer of Free Salamander Exhibit (consisting of ex-members of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum).

Genre/style: Dense, multi-layered, instrumental "chamber prog rock" with an acoustic, chamber music feel. Featuring Mike Johnson of Thinking Plague, Carla Kilhstedt of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and Steve Adams of Rova Saxophone Quartet.
