Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) In a way, this is a typical drummer's album. It's not so much based on melodies, but rather on rhythm patterns, with melodies and chords joining in. It's an unusual - but fantastic - listening experience, because this kind of music is more on the rare side. Hard to assign a genre to it - certainly it belongs to the avantgarde movement. More specifically, I'd say it's an individual kind of chamber rock music. Favorite track: procession and fanfare.

about

thin pillow is the solo project of David Shamrock, drummer and co-writer of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and ex-drummer of Thinking Plague. David is currently drummer and co-writer of Free Salamander Exhibit (consisting of ex-members of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum).

Dense, multi-layered, instrumental "art rock" with an acoustic, chamber music feel. Harmonically adventurous, with odd but organic rhythms.
